The sun is sleeping

The Mac alarm that makes sure you're really up.

When it rings, it takes over your screen until you solve a quick mission. Then it checks that you stayed up.

Free to use. Pro is free for 7 days, no card and no account. macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel.

How it rings

Your screen is the alarm.
A mission is the off switch.

At the time you set, Kill Snooze covers every display and plays your sound. It goes quiet while you solve, and starts over if you stop. Try it: this one is real.

  • AirPods still connected? It rings in them and in your Mac's speakers.
  • Anti-Escape Standard Pro Once it rings, closing the lid won't stop it.
  • Anti-Escape Hard Pro Close the lid for the night: your Mac stays awake and rings. Keep it plugged in.

Pro

After the alarm

Awake is not the same as up.

Stopping an alarm takes ten seconds. Falling back asleep takes thirty. So Kill Snooze keeps an eye on you a little longer.

  • Hardcore check. Stay active on your Mac for five minutes. Go still for one, and the alarm comes back.
  • Wake-up check. A softer version: five minutes later, it asks if you're still there.
  • Idle Guard. No mouse, no keys for 30 minutes during the hours you pick, and your alarm rings. For the nap you didn't plan at your desk.

Your companion

Meet your Astre.

A small sun that grows with your streak. Get up every morning and it moves through eight forms. Miss your alarms and it wilts. It is, somehow, the thing that gets people out of bed.

The real evolution, as it plays on your screen the morning your Astre grows.

The last four forms stay hidden. You meet them by getting up.

The one job

Built to ring. Honest about when it can't.

A sleeping Mac can't ring, and no app can change that. So Kill Snooze keeps yours awake, and tells you the night before if anything could get in the way.

Keeps your Mac awake

From the evening before an alarm, your Mac won't doze off on its own. The screen still turns off.

Beats the mute key

Muted, left at 8%, or AirPods still on? It rings anyway, then puts your volume back.

Covers every screen

Two displays, a full-screen app, a video playing: the wake screen goes on top of all of it.

Questions

Before you trust it with your morning.

Will it ring if my Mac is asleep?

No, and be careful with any app that says otherwise. What Kill Snooze does is keep your Mac from falling asleep on its own before an alarm, starting the evening before. Leave the lid open and the charger in, and it rings. With Pro, Anti-Escape Hard lets you close the lid too: your Mac stays awake until the alarm. The dashboard tells you the night before if something is off.

Why does Anti-Escape ask for my password?

It installs a small helper that keeps a closed MacBook awake, and macOS asks you to approve that once. The helper only works during an alarm, or from the evening before in Hard mode, never all day. Anti-Escape comes with the download from this site.

What happens when the 7-day trial ends?

Nothing breaks. Kill Snooze goes on as the free version: your alarms keep ringing, with the Tap and Math missions. Your Pro settings stay saved and come back the moment you enter a key.

Can I use one key on two Macs?

Yes. A key works on 2 computers at once. You can free a computer yourself, from the app or from your customer portal, and move the key to another one.

What do you know about me?

Nothing about your sleep or your alarms: they stay on your Mac. There is no account and no tracking. A few things leave your Mac, and only if you use them: an approximate location for the weather on the wake screen, the YouTube video you pick as an alarm, and your license key when you activate it. The privacy policy has the detail.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, Apple Silicon or Intel.
